Roosevelt High School, Medical Assistant Program

Without the help from wonderful people like Reza Khastou, who is the coordinator of the Bright Future Program, I do not think I would be where I am at today. He is so determined to make us happy and get where we want in life and I really appreciate that. I am so thankful that he introduced the Bright Future Program to Roosevelt High School because it is giving us a chance to attend vocational school during our high school years.

Brandon Aviado, graduated South Lake High School, Seattle, WA June 2013.

Brandon Aviado recently joined the Army reserves as an Army Medic.   He is currently stationed in Firenze, Italy and is living there with his wife, Joy, and two year old daughter, Serena.  Brandon graduated from South Lake High School in June 2013 and earned his Medical Assistant’s Certificate in September, 2013, from Seattle Vocational Institute (SVI) through the Bright Future Program.  His certificate allowed him to become an army medic upon his enlistment and the college credits that Brandon earned at SVI allowed him to enter the army as a Private First Class, two grades above a basic enlistee. Brandon is convinced that the MA program at SVI helped him become the best medic in his unit.  Brandon plans to use his college credits, along with his Army credits to help him obtain his AA degree and then use his Army benefits to complete a 4-year degree.  His long term plan is to become an EMT/Firefighter upon his release from the Army and after completing his Bachelor’s degree.  We wish Brandon and his family well and look forward to seeing Brandon realize his longtime dream.
